| Resident of Detroit for 84 Years is Dead. Mrs. Catherine Bringard, who, as a bride of 19, began housekeeping in a cabin in a wilderness clearing where today Eight Mile road intersects Gratiot avenue, died Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Frank Seldat, 5833 Fourth avenue. She was 97 years old. Mrs. Bringard was born in Alsace-Lorraine in 1836 and came to Detroit in 1849. In 1855 she was married to Joseph Bringard and they settled on a homestead on what is now Gratiot avenue.
